EXPLANATION OF SCHOOL FEES
Attendance Dues – Compulsory
Attendance Dues are compulsory. The school does not keep this money. It is used by the proprietor, Bishop Pat Dunn, to help pay the loans on the Catholic Schools in the Auckland Diocese. Attendance Dues are approved by the Minister of Education under Section 36 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975 in respect of the group of schools forming part of the Proprietors Cooperative, Diocese of Auckland. The Dues are to be applied to the group of schools solely for the authorised purposes under Section 36.
Stationery Packs
Your child will be issued with all the necessary stationery to start the school year. The books and other items in the pack have been especially selected by your child’s teacher and are sold to you at a very competitive price. The pack includes a charge of $16.00 towards the new Interactive Religious Education Resource which supports the Religious Education programme. Separate invoices are sent out to parents for the stationery packs and must be paid in full before packs are distributed to your child/ren.
Trips and Activities Fee
This fee will cover ALL the costs associated with performers visiting the school and trips and activities associated with the school curriculum for the year, with the exception of the Year 6 Camp.
Tax Deductible Items:
Special Character Contribution
The school does not keep this money. This is an important donation used by the proprietor, Bishop Pat Dunn to fund the Religious Education advisors and programmes that the Diocese provides for all Auckland Catholic Schools.
Family Contribution
This is a voluntary contribution per family, which supports and enables the school to supply equipment and resources it would otherwise be unable to purchase from Ministry of Education funding. This is charged to the eldest child in the family only.
Annual Copying and IT Charges
Each year your child will be issued with a large quantity of photocopied material which helps keep down the costs. This charge helps pay for some of the photocopying – the school covers the rest. This charge also helps to pay for the cost of ongoing computer and network maintenance, internet access for students and computer consumables, eg printer inks for each classroom and ongoing computer and network maintenance, internet access for students, and computer consumables.
